The Euro to British Pound exchange rate is influenced by European Central Bank and Bank of England policy, together with changes in the interest-rate gap between the two currencies. Eurozone interest-rate expectations, Eurozone inflation and growth and PMI data can affect the Euro, while UK interest-rate expectations, UK inflation and wage and employment data can move the British Pound.
EUR/GBP ended the latest session little changed at 0.8592 and broadly flat over the past week and month.
Employment change came in at 44.419 K, above expectations of 15.4 K and inflation was released at 3.1%.
Next up are Eurozone employment change QoQ on Monday at 10:00 UK time and Eurozone employment change YoY on Monday at 10:00 UK time, which could set the direction for EUR/GBP when markets reopen.
