KATHMANDU, Nov 2: The US Dollar strengthened against the Nepali Rupee on Sunday, while the Euro and Pound Sterling declined. According to the Nepal Rastra Bank, the buying rate for 1 USD stands at Rs 141.73 and the selling rate at Rs 142.33. On Friday, the respective rates were Rs 141.62 and Rs 142.22.
Despite fluctuations in major currencies, the Singapore Dollar and Japanese Yen remained stable. The buying rate for 10 Japanese Yen remains Rs 9.20, and the selling rate Rs 9.24.

The Euro’s buying rate fell to Rs 164.00 and selling to Rs 164.69, down from Friday’s Rs 164.39 (buying) and Rs 165.08 (selling). The Pound Sterling slipped to Rs 186.19 (buying) and Rs 186.98 (selling), compared to Friday’s Rs 186.73 and Rs 187.52.
Among other currencies, the Swiss Franc, Australian Dollar, and Canadian Dollar weakened. Meanwhile, the Saudi, Qatari, and Omani Riyals recorded gains, while the Bahraini Dinar remained unchanged. The Kuwaiti Dinar saw a decline, whereas the UAE Dirham strengthened.
With a stronger U.S. dollar, gold prices surged in the international market. Gold, traded at USD 3,996.37 per ounce on Friday, climbed to USD 4,002.93 per ounce.
The Chinese Yuan saw a slight increase, while the Thai Baht, Malaysian Ringgit, Korean Won, Swedish Krona, and Hong Kong Dollar gained. The Danish Krone declined to Rs 21.96 (buying) and Rs 22.05 (selling), down from Friday’s Rs 22.01 and Rs 22.11.
