KATHMANDU, June 23: The exchange rate for major foreign currencies saw slight fluctuations today, with the US dollar remaining stable while the euro appreciated and the pound sterling dipped.
According to Nepal Rastra Bank, the buying rate for 1 US dollar stood unchanged at Rs 138.24, and the selling rate remained at Rs 138.84, the same as the previous day.

Meanwhile, the euro saw a minor increase, with the buying rate climbing to Rs 159.29 from Rs 159.20 and the selling rate rising slightly to Rs 159.98 from Rs 159.89. In contrast, the British pound sterling declined, with the buying rate dropping to Rs 185.93 from Rs 186.51 and the selling rate falling to Rs 186.74 from Rs 187.32.
The Swiss franc remained nearly stable, with today’s buying rate at Rs 169.09 and selling rate at Rs 169.82. The Australian dollar, however, declined slightly with a buying rate of Rs 89.17 compared to Rs 89.64 yesterday and a selling rate of Rs 89.56, down from Rs 90.03. Similarly, the Canadian dollar saw a slight decrease, with today’s buying rate at Rs 100.66 and selling at Rs 101.09, both down from the previous day.
The Japanese yen also experienced a slight dip, trading at Rs 9.46 per 10 units for buying and Rs 9.50 for selling, both marginally lower than yesterday.
