In a significant development at Tribhuvan International Airport, police apprehended two individuals allegedly attempting to smuggle illegal foreign bank notes. Among those arrested was 22-year-old Chinese national, Mei Wenhao.

The authorities confiscated one million and 42,000 Japanese Yen, alongside USD 580, as Mei prepared to board a Flydubai flight to Dubai. Meanwhile, another suspect, Nepalese national Sanim Raj, was intercepted with USD 7,500 en route to Delhi on an Air India flight, police reported.

Lacking the necessary documentation to carry such foreign currency, both individuals have been handed over to the Revenue Investigation Department in Pulchowk, Lalitpur, for further legal action.
