The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted search operations under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) at 15 premises across Goa, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, and Rajkot on Monday. The raids targeted M/s. Golden Globe Hotels Pvt. Ltd., M/s. Worldwide Resorts and Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., and Big Daddy Casino in Goa.
During the operations, authorities seized ₹2.25 crore in cash, $14,000, and foreign currency worth ₹8.5 lakh. The ED investigation revealed that poker chips were being exchanged for foreign currency, and customer winnings were being paid out in foreign currency based on individual requests.
The probe is ongoing, with the ED examining potential violations of FEMA regulations and illegal foreign exchange transactions linked to the hospitality and gaming establishments.
