President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and a group of delegates from the International Finance Fund regarding the progress of the comprehensive loan facility programme in agreement with the International Finance Fund was held at the President’s Office Yesterday (06).
The current government has still come to staff agreement after the third review under the comprehensive 3 billion dollar loan facility provided to Sri Lanka on the program.
The review points are scheduled to be submitted to the Board of Directors of the International Fund by late February this year. Discussed here about progress and government involvement in running that program forward.
Sri Lanka is set to release $333 million as the fourth installment of comprehensive loan amount after getting approval from the IMF executive directors.

Discussion between President and International Currency Finance Representatives
A discussion was held today (06) between President Anurakumara Disanayaka and International Currency Finance Ambassador on the progress of the extended loan scheme in agreement with the International Currency Fund.
Government reaches officials level agreement after third review under 3 billion dollar extended loan scheme given to Sri Lanka by International Currency Fund.
The review subjects are to be submitted to the International Currency Fund Workers Council by the end of February this year. During this, it was investigated about continuous development and government intervention to continue that project in the future.

A Discussion held Between the President and Representatives of IMF
A comprehensive discussion regarding the progress of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) agreed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) took place today (06) at the Presidential Secretariat, between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the IMF delegation.
The current government has already reached a staff-level agreement with the IMF on the third review regarding the extended arrangement under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) of USD3 billion.
The details of this review are expected to be presented to the International Monetary Fund’s Board of Directors by the end of this month. In this regard, discussions were held regarding the progress and the government’s involvement in continuing the program moving forward.
Once the approval is granted by the IMF Executive Board, Sri Lanka is expected to release the fourth tranche of the extended loan, amounting to 333 million dollars.
The discussion was also attended by IMF Executive Director Dr. Krishnamurthy Subramanian, Alternate Executive Director Dr. P. K. G. Harischandra, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando, Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Mahinda Siriwadana, and Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe.
