ENGLAND’S superstar goalkeeper and Studley’s own “local legend” Hannah Hampton made a surprise visit to a flower shop in the village.
Less than a week after making two crucial saves for the Lionesses in a penalty shootout win over Spain in the Euros final, Hannah popped into Studley Florist on High Street to pick up some flowers on Saturday (August 2).
Sharing their excitement on Facebook, Studley Florist said: When an England Lioness pops in for some flowers, you know it’s going to be a good day.
“We couldn’t believe our eyes when the incredible Hannah Hampton – England’s superstar goalkeeper and Studley’s own local legend – walked into the shop on Saturday.
“Fresh from helping the Lionesses bring home the Euros trophy, Hannah dropped by to support her local florist. Talk about flower power.
“Thank you, Hannah, for making our day (and for being as awesome in real life as you are on the pitch”.
Florist Lisa Moseley said: “It was a nice surprise. Her mum is a regular customer. It was lovely to meet her”.
Hannah was named Player of the Match in the Euro 2025 in Basel, Switzerland.
Chloe Kelly scored the winning spot-kick on Sunday following two crucial saves from Hannah – sending supporters in fan zones into raptures.
Hampton, who was born with a serious eye condition and was previously told by doctors she shouldn’t play football, said: “This team is just unbelievable, incredible. We’ve shown throughout the tournament we can come back when we go a goal back. We’ve got that grit, that English blood in us. We never say die, we keep going and we did that today”.
During the tournament, a post box topper with knitted versions of Hannah and the Lionesses was unveiled by the Studley Stitchers, which people visited to celebrate after the win.
