Euro 2028: Stadiums and schedule confirmed, starting at Cardiff

Euro 2028 might be a long way off, but the excitement is already starting to build.

Announcing the match schedule at Piccadilly Circus in London last night, Uefa confirmed that the first game will kick off at Cardiff’s National Stadium of Wales.

And if Wales – one of the co-hosts along with England, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland – qualify for the tournament, they’ll play this very first game on Friday 9 June 2028.

Debbie Hewitt, who is the boss of the company who are delivering the tournament locally, said: “The countdown is truly on now to what will be an unforgettable summer of football.”
