Fermin Lopez has had a surreal 12 months. He established himself as an important member of the Barcelona first team throughout last season, and this summer, he was part of the Spain squads to win Euro 2024 and the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris. He will soon be rewarded for these efforts.
Barcelona sporting director Deco held talks with Fermin’s agent earlier this week, and it was relayed that a contract offer will be coming for the 21-year-old. As per MD, the idea will be for Fermin to be offered a new five-year contract, which would keep him at the club until 2029.
Barcelona wants to extend Fermín’s contract until 2029 and improve his salary. Fermín’s current deal is until 2027 and discussions are set to start in September. @mundodeportivo

Fermin’s current deal, which was signed during last season, does not expire until 2027, but Barcelona officials are keen to extend his stay further.
There’s no doubt that Fermin is one of the players that Barcelona should be building around over the coming years. Extending his contract is the right idea, although there are others who will also need to have their situations address – namely, the likes of Pedri and Gavi (their deals ends in 2026).
