The US Dollar to Euro exchange rate is influenced by Federal Reserve and European Central Bank policy, together with changes in the interest-rate gap between the two currencies. US interest-rate expectations, US inflation and labour-market data can affect the US Dollar, while Eurozone interest-rate expectations, Eurozone inflation and growth and PMI data can move the Euro.
USD/EUR is holding at 0.8723, little changed today. The pair has advanced 1.42% over the past week and has edged 0.92% higher over the past month.
FOMC Economic Projections kept the US Dollar interest-rate outlook in focus and ECB Lagarde speech kept the Euro interest-rate outlook in focus.
Next up are US initial Jobless Claims on Thursday at 13:30 UK time and US continuing Jobless Claims on Thursday at 13:30 UK time, which could set the direction for USD/EUR.
