Aston Villa has confirmed to the Fans’ Advisory Board that Villa Park’s capacity could increase by over 800 seats by next summer. The ultimate goal is to raise the total capacity to over 50,000 seats, with the intent of hosting Euro 2028 matches.
Club representatives share the latest plans with fans
The first phase will add seating in various sections of Villa Park, totaling an additional 800 seats. This follows work completed last summer, which involved improvements to the lower part of the Holte End and the upper part of the North Stand.
Aston Villa representatives, including Chief Operating Officer Ben Hatton, participated in the latest meeting of the Fans’ Advisory Board, where the club meets with selected supporters to answer questions, present plans, discuss concerns, and seek suggestions aimed at enhancing the overall fan experience, keeping fans informed of the club’s plans.
Goal? An 8,000-seat capacity increase
During this meeting, it was also shared that The Warehouse – a new multi-functional facility behind the North Stand – is set to be completed by Christmas 2025, while work on the new match-day ticket offices is underway, with installation to begin next season. Villa also confirmed plans to expand the North Stand’s upper concourse, which will take several months.
The club’s long-term vision is to increase stadium capacity by at least 8,000 seats to reach world-class
standards, potentially including the construction of a new North Stand surrounding the Trinity Stand, followed by upgrades to the existing structure.
Expanded Villa Park is among the 10 stadiums awarded to host EURO 2028. The capacity of the Birmingham venue will then be 50,000.
